Dear Alumni and Friends,
In August 1994, we lost a dear friend, classmate, and brother when Greg Holland ’89 passed away. In the fall of 1994, family and friends joined together to establish The Gregory H. Holland ’89 Scholarship Fund at Lynchburg College, and since 2005, an annual golf tournament has been held in his honor at Chesapeake Bay Golf Club in Rising Sun, Maryland. We now plan to host the 7th Annual Greg Holland ’89 Scholarship Golf Tournament at Chesapeake Bay Golf Club in Rising Sun, Maryland, on Saturday, August 28, 2010. This tournament is a special occasion to remember and celebrate Greg’s life as well as to raise additional support for his scholarship. Since its inception, Greg’s scholarship has provided $48,186.00 so deserving students with financial need could attend Lynchburg College.
The tournament flyer contains details about the golf tournament. We invite your participation, and we hope you will encourage others to participate in this meaningful event by entering a team, being a tournament sponsor, or by providing a prize. A dinner will be held immediately following the tournament, and you will not want to miss the chance to win a variety of prizes. Furthermore, for those who plan to arrive the day before, we will have a “Welcome Back” reception on Friday evening (August 27) from 7:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. at the Chesapeake Bay Golf Club, 1500 Chesapeake Club Drive, North East, Maryland.
Please complete and submit the Registration Form no later than August 16, 2010, so we know in what activities you will participate. Also, if you need lodging, call the Best Western in North East, Maryland, at (410) 287-5450. Reservations must be made by August 1, 2010.

The format is Captain’s Choice and is open to all golfers. Teams will be flighted based on the lowest handicap with winning team members receiving a prize. Individuals who sign up will be placed on a team.
Each player will receive a golfer’s goody bag and enjoy course refreshments, dinner, and prizes for various contests, including the opportunity for special hole-in-one prizes.

Individual registration fee is $150 per player and $600 per team. VIP Packages (two mulligans and ten raffle tickets) are available at $25 per person. Extra dinner tickets can also be purchased for $25 per person.

A tax deductible gift of $50 from each player’s entry fee goes toward the Greg Holland ’89 Scholarship Fund at Lynchburg College.
In the unlikely event of rain, all registration fees will go to the Holland Scholarship Fund, and prizes will be raffled at the dinner.
Lodging can be booked at the Best Western, 39 Elwoods Road, North East, Maryland, (410) 287-5450. Room rates are $89 per night. Reservations must be made before August 1, 2010.
