Thinking About Running or Walking the Ukrop’s Monument Ave 10K?

Join Us & Show Your Hornet Pride! 

For the fourth consecutive year, more than 25 LC Alumni and Friends from around the country are planning to get together at this year’s race on Saturday, March 27, 2010 at 8:30 a.m. Our goal is to gather as many people from the LC community as we can (Alumni, Parents, Students, Runners and Walkers) to show our Hornet pride!   

Interested runners and walkers should check the details for this year’s race at the link below and register. The Ukrop’s Monument Avenue 10K is one of the largest road races in the U.S. and has sold out several times.  Organizers expect close to 35,000 competitors this year, so sign up now!

The team is planning on the following:

  • Friday 5:30 p.m.:  Pre-Race Happy Hour at Black Finn - (see below for details)
  • Saturday before the 8:30 a.m. start:  In what is now a tradition, we will gather as a group near the starting line for a Team LC picture about 30 minutes before the first wave goes off
  • Saturday following the race:  Gather in Monroe Park for more pictures and to trade race tales.
  • Making available at cost, custom LC Racing Singlet or Technical T-Shirt to show your Hornet Pride, we must order quickly!  (Pick-up Friday night at Black Finn).

4th Annual Pre-Race LC Happy Hour

Friday, March 26, 5:30 – 9:00 p.m.

Whether you are participating in the Ukrop’s Monument Ave 10K race or not, please join us to kick off spring and welcome many LC Alumni and Friends in town for the race.  We will have our own private room and Black Finn offers a great atmosphere, great food and many specials!  We look forward to seeing you!
